SSRU Institute for Research and Development Holds Subcommittee Meeting to Review Draft Revisions to the University’s Intellectual Property Regulations (Meeting No. 1/2569)

On 15 January 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), convened the Subcommittee Meeting to consider the draft revision of the SSRU Regulation on the Management of Intellectual Property from Research and Innovation (B.E. 2555 / 2012). The meeting was organized to review and update the regulation to ensure it remains appropriate and responsive to the current context. The session was held at Meeting Room 26109, Faculty of Science and Technology, and online via Zoom Meeting.

The meeting was chaired by AsstProf Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, with university executives, expert committee members, and relevant representatives from various units attending to jointly deliberate, exchange viewpoints, and provide policy-level recommendations in a comprehensive manner.

The key objective of the meeting was to modernize the university’s intellectual property management framework in line with evolving academic practices, technological advancements, and relevant legal considerations. The revision is intended to strengthen the university’s ability to support research and innovation development, ensure fair protection of researchers’ rights, and enable systematic utilization of research outputs for both commercial and societal benefits.

This initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening higher-education research and innovation support systems with clear intellectual property protection mechanisms; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by promoting the translation of research into practical utilization that enhances national competitiveness; SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by upholding good governance, transparency, and the rule of law in intellectual property administration; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by reinforcing collaboration among the university, the private sector, and public agencies to co-create and apply knowledge and innovation.

The meeting marks another important step in shaping SSRU’s policy direction on intellectual property management, with the aim of elevating standards for both protection and utilization of research and innovation outcomes to their highest potential across academic, economic, and social dimensions, while sustaining long-term collaboration with key partners.
