SSRU Institute for Research and Development Partners with NIA to Conduct the First-Round Selection of Social Innovation Projects under the Concept of “Innovation for Sustainable Communities”

On June 10, 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), or NIA, conducted the first-round selection of social innovation projects under the Social Innovation Driving Unit Project for the Upper Northeastern Region. The selection was held under the concept of “Innovation for Sustainable Communities” via Zoom Meeting.

The selection process was honored by the participation of AsstProf Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Chairperson of the Social Innovation Driving Unit for the Upper Northeastern Region; Asst. Prof. Nayot Kulpanich, Vice-Chairperson of the Social Innovation Driving Unit for the Upper Northeastern Region; Miss Wanita Thongphat, Innovation Developer at the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization); and Miss Chanokporn Khamphra, Innovation Developer at the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), who served as qualified experts in reviewing and selecting the innovation projects. Personnel from the Institute for Research and Development and the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) also participated in the activity.

A total of 23 projects were presented to the selection committee in the first round. These projects were categorized into three areas: 14 projects in food innovation, four projects in climate innovation, and five projects in digital innovation.

This activity reflects the important role of the Institute for Research and Development in promoting the use of innovation as a key mechanism for driving sustainable community and social development. It also supports the strengthening of collaborative networks among educational institutions, government agencies, and area-based network partners.

The activity is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG 13: Climate Action; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
