Joins a Strategic Meeting on Advancing
University Rankings under the Times
Higher Education (THE) Framework to
Enhance Institutional Management toward
International
Standards
On 16 February 2026, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University held a meeting to discuss approaches and criteria for university rankings under the Times Higher Education (THE) framework, covering both the World University Rankings and the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings. The meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witthaya Mekkham, Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance, at the meeting room on the 5th floor of the Office of the President Building.
On this occasion, the Institute for Research and Development, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Wat Ploysri, Vice-Director for Academic Affairs and Training Service, and relevant personnel, participated in the meeting.
The objective of the meeting was to establish mechanisms for integrating data related to research, academic services, community development, and institutional management in alignment with the THE evaluation framework. During the discussion, the Institute for Research and Development contributed to the exchange of ideas on evidence-based reporting and the development of a centralized database system capable of concretely reflecting the University’s performance in sustainable development.
This initiative is significantly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, as the development of a transparent, verifiable, and evidence-based information system serves as an important mechanism for good governance and public accountability. At the same time, the integration of collaboration among internal units of the University also reflects SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, in terms of building systemic cooperation to drive shared organizational goals.
In addition, raising reporting standards and management practices in line with the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings framework also supports SDG 4: Quality Education from an institutional management perspective, as it helps ensure that the University’s teaching and learning, research, and social service missions are guided by clear directions, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement based on real data.
Although this meeting was an internal organizational process, it represents an important step in laying the policy foundation and monitoring mechanisms that will lead to strengthening the University’s role as a higher education institution driving sustainable development in a systematic, transparent manner and in alignment with international standards.
