The Institute of Research and Development Led Start-Up Students on a Field Visit and Discussion for Developing a Rice Disease Detection Application at the Rice Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives
On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the Institute of Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, led by Ms. Atidtaya Bousri, Vice Director of Intellectual Property Management and Enterprise Incubation, took start-up student Mr. Khacharawit Srisunthon, an alumnus of the Faculty of Science and Technology at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University and researcher for the project “Mobile Application for Rice Disease Detection Using Deep Learning,” on a field visit. The team received guidance and consultations from the Information and Communication Technology Center at the Rice Department to improve the research, enhancing the application’s effectiveness for diagnosing rice leaf diseases and providing treatment methods. The goal was to ensure accurate information aligned with the Rice Department’s documentation, making the application beneficial for farmers and users. Mr. Panithi Thepsong, Computer Science Officer and Director of the Geographic Information Group, and Ms. Saowalak Poolsawat, Computer Scientist and Director of the Information System and Statistics Program Development Group, welcomed the team and provided operational guidance in the Rice Situation Monitoring Operations Meeting Room, 1st Floor, Rice Department Office Building, Phahon Yothin Road, Bangkok.
