The Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Hosts the “18 Research Projects to Watch” Forum to Develop High-Potential Researchers for the International Stage

On 9 January 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, held an online presentation meeting showcasing noteworthy research projects under the “Program to Promote High-Potential Individuals toward Career Pathways and Advancement as Researchers and Innovators.” The event brought together administrators, faculty members, researchers, and personnel from various units to exchange knowledge and strengthen the capabilities of Thai researchers, enabling them to progress toward international industry collaboration.

The meeting was honored by the participation of distinguished experts and university executives who shared perspectives and provided in-depth feedback. The session was led by AsstProf Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, together with Asst. Prof. Nayot Kulpanich, Vice-Director for Research and Publication; Asst. Prof. Dr. Wat Ploysri, Vice-Director for Academic Affairs and Training Service; Atidtaya Buasri, Vice-Director of Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation; and Dr. Doungjai Limsaksri, Vice-Director for Administration. The panel offered guidance on strengthening each project in terms of academic rigor, pathways to practical application, and the potential to expand into collaborations with the industrial sector.

This forum served not only as a platform for “presenting research,” but also as a space for “building upon and extending” research outcomes. It aimed to help researchers envision a systematic career-development pathway—from research planning and producing work with measurable economic and social impact, to establishing collaborative networks both domestically and internationally—so that the University’s research can respond to the needs of industry and society in tangible ways.

A total of 18 highlighted projects were presented, representing multiple academic units: two projects from the Faculty of Law; one from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; six from the Faculty of Science and Technology; four from the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology; one from the College of Logistics and Supply Chain; one from the College of Innovation and Management; one from the College of Nursing and Health; and two from the College of Allied Health Sciences. The wide range of participating units reflects the diversity of expertise across disciplines and the University’s strong potential to translate research into real-world applications in multiple dimensions.

The meeting also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), which emphasizes inclusive and sustainable economic growth alongside the creation of decent work. This is supported through strengthening the research and innovation workforce to compete globally, and through promoting research outcomes that connect with industry and can be applied commercially and socially in concrete ways.

Ultimately, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, reaffirmed its key mission to “translate research into real-world impact,” while advancing high-potential work into innovations that can generate sustainable economic and social benefits. The Institute emphasized that this forum was not merely a research presentation, but another important step in developing the University’s high-potential researchers to move forward with confidence on the international stage and to help shape the future of Thai industry and the economy through practical knowledge and innovation.

“This research program is not just a presentation—it is a transformation of the future of Thai industry and the economy.”
