
Institute for Research and Development Launches Intensive Platform to Prepare Researchers for Fundamental Fund and Strategic Fund Grants
The Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized the “Project for Developing Research Program Proposals for the Thailand Science, Research and Innovation Fund (Fundamental Fund) for Fiscal Year B.E. 2571 and Research Project Proposals for the Strategic Fund (SF)” from July 20 to 21, 2026, at S.D. Avenue Hotel, Bangkok. The project aimed to promote and enhance the capacity of lecturers and researchers in preparing high-quality research program and project proposals that align with the university’s policies and the guidelines of research funding agencies.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosjana Chandhasa, Vice-President for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, was assigned by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutikarn Sriviboon, President of the university, to preside over the opening ceremony. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of strengthening researchers’ capabilities and enhancing the quality of research proposals in order to increase opportunities for securing research funding from national funding sources.
Following the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosjana Chandhasa delivered a special lecture on “Research Policy of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.” She presented the university’s research directions and highlighted the importance of developing research outputs that respond to national strategies, science, research and innovation policies, and the creation of knowledge and innovation that can be practically applied to local, social, and national development.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, presented the objectives and implementation guidelines of the project. In addition, Asst. Prof. Nayot Kulpanich, Vice-Director for Research and Publication, delivered a briefing on guidelines for applying for the Thailand Science, Research and Innovation Fund (Fundamental Fund) for Fiscal Year B.E. 2571. The briefing aimed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the criteria, processes, and approaches for preparing quality research program proposals in alignment with funding agency policies.
Throughout the project, lecturers and researchers participated in intensive hands-on workshops designed to develop research program and project proposals. Participants received advice and recommendations from qualified experts and specialists from leading national agencies and higher education institutions, including Ms. Sunanta Sompong, Research Advisor in Science at the National Research Council of Thailand; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narong Sompong from Kasetsart University; Mr. Thongchai Pongwichai from the National Research Council of Thailand; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Nilsawat from the Asian Institute of Technology; Prof. Dr. Komgrit Leksakul from Chiang Mai University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosjana Chandhasa, Vice-President for Research and Development; and Prof. Dr. Somporn Turee from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi.
This project serves as an important mechanism for enhancing the quality of the university’s research proposals, strengthening researchers’ competitiveness, and preparing them for future grant applications under the Science, Research and Innovation Promotion Fund and the Strategic Fund. These efforts are expected to lead to the development of high-quality research and innovation outputs that can be sustainably applied to local, social, and national development.
