On 23 December 2025, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), hosted a briefing session on “Research Topics and Key Targets of the Program Management Unit for Human Resources Development and for Higher Education Institution Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B).” The session aimed to strengthen strategic understanding of Thailand’s national research funding direction among university executives and faculty members from all faculties and units. More than 50 participants attended the event at Meeting Room 5724, 2nd Floor, Building 57, Faculty of Management Science.
The event was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosjana Chandhasa, Vice-President for Research and Development. The opening remarks were delivered by AsstProf Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, while Asst. Prof. Nayot Kulpanich, Vice-Director for Research and Publication, presented the objectives and implementation framework.
A key highlight of the session was a special lecture by the Director of PMU-B under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), who shared the unit’s vision, core concepts, and priority research calls with clear direction. This helped SSRU researchers align their research agendas with national needs in a concrete manner and enhance proposal quality toward measurable social and economic outcomes.
The activity reflects SSRU’s proactive role in strengthening research and innovation capacity and advancing the development of research-oriented human capital toward international standards. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improving researcher competencies and the university learning ecosystem; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by developing research and innovation talent for quality employment; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by pushing research outputs toward real-world utilization; SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through research that responds to local and societal needs; SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting resource-efficient and responsible research approaches; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through integrated collaboration among the university, government agencies, and partner networks to drive sustainable national development.
