On August 20–21, 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, assigned its personnel to participate in the training course titled “Editorial Skill Development,” organized by the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI). The training was held at Surasak Rooms 1–2, 11th Floor, Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, Bangkok, and was attended by editors, editorial board members, and personnel involved in academic journal operations from across the country.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, assigned Mr. Anuphan Suttimarn, Head of General Administration, and Mr. Khajonwong Srivareerat, Scientist, to attend the training, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanchak Noichan, Dean of the Graduate School, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Their participation aimed to enhance knowledge and strengthen capacity in academic journal management, while supporting the improvement of the standards and quality of the university’s academic journals.

The training was honored by Prof. Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop, Head of the Thai-Journal Citation Index Centre (TCI), who delivered the welcoming remarks and officially opened the program. He also gave lectures on “Editorial Skills: Roles of the Editor-in-Chief / Set Up Related Policies” and “Case Studies in Journal Management: How to Deal with Unexpected Situations.” The sessions provided guidance on journal management, the roles of editors, policy development, and approaches to handling various situations that may arise in academic journal operations.

In addition, participants gained insights from the session titled “How to Manage and Improve a Journal Indexed in Scopus: Lessons Learned from an Editor-in-Chief,” delivered by the Editor-in-Chief of LEARN Journal, Thammasat University. The session presented practical approaches and professional experience in managing and improving journal quality, as well as advancing journals toward indexing in international databases.

Participation in this training helped enhance knowledge and understanding of systematic academic journal management and operations. The content covered the key roles and responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, Assistant Editor, Managing Editor, Section Editor, and Copy Editor, as well as relevant processes and best practices in journal administration. These insights will serve as important guidelines for further strengthening the quality and standards of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University’s academic journals and supporting their advancement toward wider international recognition.
