
Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Advances the Development of a New Generation of Researchers—Enhancing Capacity, Strengthening Research Networks, and Driving Tangible Research Utilization
The Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, continues to advance its research mission by organizing the “New-Generation Researcher Capacity Development Program” during 22–23 January 2026 at Supannika Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Wang Suan Sunandha Hotel. The program aimed to systematically strengthen research knowledge, skills, and competencies among early-career researchers, while promoting the practical utilization of research outcomes at the local and societal levels.
The opening ceremony was presided over by AsstProf Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, together with the executive team, including Asst. Prof. Nayot Kulpanich, Vice-Director for Research and Publication; Dr. Doungjai Limsaksri, Vice-Director for Administration; and Atidtaya Buasri, Vice-Director of Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation. The program focused on developing new-generation researchers alongside building academic collaboration networks with various sectors—government, private organizations, and civil society—in order to elevate research into practical applications and support sustainable social and national development.
The program featured Associate Professor Dr. Yothin Sawaengdee, an expert from the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, who shared knowledge, experience, and strategic research perspectives with more than 30 participants, comprising faculty members and early-career researchers. The strong participation reflected the University’s clear commitment to enhancing internal research capacity.
Day 1 emphasized strengthening methodological foundations through lectures on “Qualitative Research: Principles and Research Design” and “Population, Sample Size Calculation, and Sampling Methods.” Day 2 built on these foundations through lectures and hands-on practice on identifying research problems and writing grant proposals to seek research funding, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yothin Sawaengdee.
In addition, the program was honored by the participation of Ms. Waranya Leelaburanapong, Director of Dusit District Office, who provided real-area research issues and led participants on a field visit to Wat Sawat Wareesimaram Community. The participants were welcomed by Ms. Naina Yonjorho, Chairperson of the Wat Sawat Wareesimaram Community, who also joined discussions on the community’s issues and needs in a close and constructive exchange.
This program marked another important step for Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in strengthening its “research ecosystem,” developing high-quality researchers, and extending research outcomes toward real-world utilization at the community, societal, and national levels. It also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
