The Institute for Research and Development of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University continues to advance its mission for local development through the practical transfer of knowledge to the community.
On 24 March 2026, the Institute organized a workshop on “Making Jam and Syrup from Carissa carandas” at Wat Charoen Sukharam School, Bang Nok Khwaek Subdistrict, Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram Province. The activity aimed to promote the processing of agricultural produce and increase the economic value of local resources.
The workshop focused on transforming Carissa carandas, a local plant cultivated by students at the school, into value-added products such as jam and syrup. This activity helped promote the efficient use of local resources, reduce agricultural waste, and create opportunities for students and community members to develop future income-generating activities.
This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to applying academic knowledge in practical ways to strengthen communities, enhance vocational skills among youth, and support sustainable local development.
The activity also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
