Suan Sunandha Social Engineer Innovation Showcased as an Outstanding Community Development Project at Thailand Research Expo 2026

On June 22, 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the College of Allied Health Sciences, presented a research-based innovation developed under the incubation project for enhancing area-based development through the Social Engineer process. The project was showcased as an outstanding community development initiative at the “Thailand Research Expo 2026,” held under the theme of innovation for enhancing the community economy. The event took place from June 22 to 24, 2026, at Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Bangkok.

The featured innovation was a “mouth freshening spray containing essential oil extracted from pomelo peel.” The product was developed as an extension of the 2024 project on utilizing discarded pomelo peels to create value-added products. The initiative has achieved concrete outcomes and has been expanded for practical community use by transforming agricultural waste from pomelo farms into a valuable innovative product. It contributes to improving product standards, generating income, and promoting sustainability for Ban Kwae Om Sufficiency Agriculture Community Enterprise in Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.

Representatives of the Social Engineer student team, including Miss Jutatip Ritboon, Miss Kanchanaporn Bua-on, Miss Kitiyaporn Duangbut, and Miss Nantakan Chinwiwek, participated in the exhibition booth and presented on stage. They shared the project concept, development process, and outcomes resulting from the application of research-based knowledge to address real community issues and support tangible community development.

The project was advised by Lecturer Atidtaya Buasri, Vice-Director for Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation at the Institute for Research and Development, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jatuporn Unprasertsuk from the College of Allied Health Sciences. The implementation reflects Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University’s commitment to developing students’ potential as key drivers of community advancement through the Social Engineer process and the practical application of research knowledge.

This innovation is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. These goals serve as important pathways for advancing research and innovation that create sustainable benefits for society and local communities.
