Suan Sunandha Startup Team Delivers Outstanding Results at the Regional Level
During 26–27 January 2026, the Institute for Research and Development led Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University’s student startup team, TIDY (TIDEE/“Thai Dee”) TEETH, an oral and dental care product made from pomelo peel extract, after the team was selected to advance to the competition round of the UBI-Alpha Contest 2026. The contest is a platform for developing new-generation entrepreneurs from university business incubator units (UBI), organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OPS MHESI), with the aim of promoting and nurturing students to become emerging entrepreneurs at the regional level (Central and Eastern regions). The event was held at the Jubilee Prestige Ratchadapisek Hotel, Bangkok.
The student team consisted of Ms. Kanchanaporn Bua-on and Ms. Kittiyaporn Duangbut from the College of Allied Health Sciences, and Ms. Sarintip Sirimarn from the Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Demonstration School. The project was advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jatuporn Unprasertsuk (College of Allied Health Sciences) and Atidtaya Buasri, Vice-Director of Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation.
This achievement builds upon the research project entitled “Development of Products from Discarded Pomelo Peels” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Jatuporn Unprasertsuk. The students applied the knowledge gained to develop an oral and dental care product using pomelo peel extract as the main ingredient. The product helps reduce chemical use, adds value to agricultural waste, and responds to health care needs alongside sustainability.
This innovation aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
