Institute for Research and Development Enhances Students’ Local Innovation Skills through the Social Engineer Concept

From 27 to 28 May 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, through its Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation Department, organized the 2nd training program on “Developing Local Innovation Skills to Solve Community Problems through the Social Engineer Concept” for students at the Udon Thani Education Center.

The program aimed to strengthen students’ knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in applying the Social Engineer concept to create local innovations that effectively and sustainably address community needs. It also encouraged students to integrate soft skills with local contexts in order to develop practical solutions for community development.

Participants gained knowledge and experience from academic experts, community leaders, and community enterprise representatives, who shared practical approaches to working with local communities. The training also promoted analytical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and innovation skills among students.

This activity aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, through lifelong learning and soft skills development; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, through the promotion of innovation and community-based skills; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through support for local innovation; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through community-based development; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration between the university and community networks.
