Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Hosts the “Market in the Garden (3rd Edition)” in Samut Songkhram to Drive the Grassroots Economy and Promote Sustainable Quality of Life

On 30 January 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized the event and opening ceremony of “Market in the Garden (3rd Edition)” at the Suan Nok Agricultural Community Enterprise Learning Center, Bang Yi Rong Subdistrict, Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram Province. The event was held under the Rajabhat University Strategy for Local Development Project, aiming to promote the grassroots economy, support local products and community wisdom, and enhance the well-being and resilience of people in the area in a sustainable manner.

The opening ceremony was honored by Mr. Chayachai Saeng-in, Governor of Samut Songkhram Province, who presided over the event. AsstProf Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, delivered the report on the objectives of the activity, reflecting the integrated cooperation between the University and the community in driving tangible local development.

The event was attended by administrators, faculty members, and personnel from various units, including Asst. Community leaders and local residents also joined the event in large numbers, demonstrating strong collaborative power in advancing the grassroots economy and community development in practical ways.

In addition, several internal university units collaborated by organizing a variety of on-site activities. For example, the Samut Songkhram Campus and the Graduate School set up booths to sell and promote community products to support income distribution to local communities. The College of Allied Health Sciences provided health screening services by applied Thai traditional medicine practitioners to promote well-being among attendees. Moreover, the Office of Arts and Culture organized creative workshops—such as making scented sachets and Bunga Rampai—to create learning spaces, pass on local wisdom, and foster shared experiences with the community.

The “Market in the Garden (3rd Edition)” was held from 30–31 January and 1 February 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event provided opportunities for the public to purchase safe agricultural products, community goods, and quality products directly from producers, alongside health promotion and learning activities for all age groups—supporting sustainable economic opportunities and shared learning within the community.
