
Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Joins Press Conference on Award-Winning Innovations from IEI 2026, Reflecting the Potential of Thai Research on the Global Stage
On August 27, 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, led a team of researchers whose innovations received awards from the international competition, “The 12th International Exhibition of Inventions (IEI 2026),” held in Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China, to participate in a press conference on Thai award-winning inventions from international competitions. The event was organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) at the Cultural Heritage Research Promotion Center, NRCT Building 8, National Research Council of Thailand, to publicize the achievements of Thai researchers and raise awareness of the country’s research and innovation potential.
On this occasion, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University presented seven award-winning research and innovation works from IEI 2026, reflecting the capability of its researchers in creating innovations that can be further utilized for economic, social, and environmental benefits.
The first project, “Geospatial Platform for Road Traffic Accident Risk Analysis and Prediction by Health Region,” was developed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Asst. Prof. Phonphoem Saeng-ngow, Asst. Prof. Nayot Kulpanich, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanyapat Thanakulwuttiroj from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The project is a web-based geospatial platform designed to analyze, monitor, and predict road traffic accident risks by health region. It integrates accident data, spatial coordinates, area boundaries, time periods, vehicle types, and environmental factors, presenting the results through heatmaps, risk locations, point clustering, and probability values.
The second project, “Development of an Intelligent Application for Cosmetic Formulation, Cost Management, and Gamified Learning for Students and Entrepreneurs,” was developed by Lecturer Wijittra Prasatkaew from the College of Allied Health Sciences. The project is an intelligent application that supports beauty product formulation design, ingredient ratio calculation, production scale adjustment, and accurate cost management.
The third project, “Application of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision for the Diagnosis of Dry Leaf Disease in Rice,” was developed by Lecturer Wassamon Saentaweesuk and Lecturer Atidtaya Buasri from the College of Innovation and Management. The application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to diagnose rice diseases and is designed to help Thai rice farmers identify rice diseases quickly and accurately through user-friendly channels, whether by taking photos of rice leaves or answering questions about observed symptoms.
The fourth project, “Bee Lephant,” was developed by Lecturer Suphawan Sanyalakruachai, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanyapat Thanakulwuttiroj, Lecturer Suwita Prueksa-aporn, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts. The product is designed for lip care, helping moisturize and reduce dryness and cracking. It is made from natural beeswax produced by farmers who raise bees as a protective buffer against wild elephants.
The fifth project, “Krammé Chakram Herbal Shampoo,” was developed by Lecturer Yaowana Wongthaicharoen, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pongmada Damapong, Asst. Prof. Dr. Peerada Damapong, and Miss Areena Abdulloh from the College of Allied Health Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. The project is an innovative hair care product made from local herbs, helping create economic value and promote the sustainable use of herbal resources, while responding to consumers who value natural and health-safe products.
The sixth project, “Smart Pricing Platform for Community Enterprises and SMEs,” was developed by Lecturer Atidtaya Buasri and Lecturer Wassamon Saentaweesuk from the College of Innovation and Management. The project is an advanced digital platform designed to support community enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in calculating costs, analyzing profitability, and setting appropriate product prices.
The seventh project, “Development and Commercialization of an Innovative Pomelo Peel Essential Oil–Based Foot Deodorizing Spray,” was developed by Lecturer Dr. Rungtawan Muangmool, Chinese Medicine Practitioner Orrawan Sinphaiboonlert, and Miss Lonita Phawananon from the College of Allied Health Sciences. The innovation is a foot deodorizing spray made from pomelo peel essential oil, adding value to agricultural waste from Samut Songkhram Province and transforming it into a safe, consumer-friendly health innovation product.
Participation in this press conference marked another proud achievement for Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, as it provided an opportunity to share the research and innovation achievements of Thai researchers with the public. It also reflected the university’s capacity to produce high-quality research and innovations that have gained international recognition and can be further developed for commercial utilization, as well as economic, social, and environmental development. The event also supported the expansion of research and innovation collaboration networks both nationally and internationally.
This success is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through the development of research and innovations that can be applied in practice; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through the creation of value and identity for communities; SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, through adding value to waste materials under the circular economy concept; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through building research and innovation collaboration networks to enhance Thailand’s capacity on the international stage.
