Powers and Responsibilities of the University

Pursuant to the authority and responsibilities outlined in the Rajabhat University Act, B.E. 2547 (2004), specifically under Chapter 1: General Provisions, Section 7, the university is established as a higher education institution dedicated to local development, aiming to enhance the intellectual power of the nation, revive the learning spirit, uphold local wisdom, and foster arts and sciences for the stable and sustainable progress of the people. It also participates in managing, maintaining, and utilizing natural resources and the environment in a balanced and sustainable manner.

The university's objectives include providing education, promoting academic and professional knowledge, teaching, research, academic services to society, improving, transferring, and developing technology, preserving arts and culture, producing teachers, and promoting the professional standards of educators.

According to Section 8, to achieve the objectives in Section 7, the university is assigned the following responsibilities:

  1. Seeking truth and achieving academic excellence based on local, Thai, and global wisdom.
  2. Producing graduates with knowledge and virtue, fostering Thai identity, love, and attachment to local communities while promoting lifelong learning to help people adapt to change. The production of graduates must align with national education and workforce development plans.
  3. Enhancing appreciation, awareness, and pride in local and national culture.
  4. Educating and strengthening local leaders, religious leaders, and local politicians by instilling democratic awareness, ethics, and governance skills for community and local development.
  5. Strengthening the teaching profession by producing and developing teachers and educational personnel to meet the highest professional standards.
  6. Cooperating with and supporting communities, local administrative organizations, and both domestic and international institutions for local development.
  7. Researching and developing traditional and modern technology to improve people's livelihoods and occupations while ensuring sustainable management and utilization of natural resources and the environment.
  8. Studying, researching, and promoting projects under the Royal Initiative to support the university's mission in local development.

Beyond these responsibilities, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University is also governed by the Civil Service in Higher Education Institutions Act, B.E. 2547 (2004) and its amendments (No. 2) B.E. 2551 (2008), as well as regulations and legal requirements issued by relevant authorities.
