????SSRU Institute for Research and Development Holds Briefing on Preparation of the National Budget Proposal for Fiscal Year 2027

Strengthening Policy Readiness to Drive Sustainable Local Development

On 11 December 2025, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), convened an online briefing on the preparation of national budget expenditure proposals under the “Rajabhat University for Local Development” initiative for Fiscal Year 2027. The session aimed to build a clear, shared understanding of implementation directions and to enhance the quality and efficiency of project proposals in alignment with national strategies and sustainable area-based development policies.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, presided over the opening of the meeting and assigned Asst. Prof. Dr. Wat Ploysri, Vice-Director for Academic Affairs and Training Service, to serve as the lead presenter. He was joined by Miss Thananya Santithamkul, Head of Academic Service Department, and Miss Jenjira Chinnawong, Research Officer, who provided comprehensive guidance on procedures for preparing budget proposals for the Rajabhat University for Local Development strategic projects for FY2027.

The briefing brought together executives, project leaders, and staff members from faculties, colleges, the Samut Songkhram Campus, the Nakhon Pathom Campus, and the Udonthani Education Center, all participating via Zoom Meeting. The strong turnout reflected the University’s integrated approach to advancing its social mission.

Key content focused on implementation guidelines, performance indicators, budget frameworks, and required documentation for four principal project clusters that serve as core mechanisms to translate SSRU’s mission in local development into practice, namely:

1.Upgrading the grassroots economy based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy;

2.Promoting quality of life and local wisdom for area-based security and sustainability;

3.Building eco-conscious communities to address climate change; and

4.Equipping communities with knowledge for sustainable area-based development.

This meeting marked an important step in strengthening readiness in budget management, outcome-based indicator design, and the integration of academic services, research, and teaching to meet the needs of grassroots communities. It underscores Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University’s role as a “University for Local Development,” committed to capacity-building, reducing inequality, and advancing Thailand toward stability, prosperity, and sustainability.
