SSRU Institute for Research and Development Conducts Training in Ranong Province to Develop Local Food and Desserts for Commercialization and Sustainable Community Economic Growth

From June 17 to 19, 2026, the Institute for Research and Development, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, through its Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation Division, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Morakot Worachairungreung, Director of the Institute for Research and Development, assigned Lecturer Atidtaya Buasri, Vice-Director for Intellectual Property Management and Business Incubation, to conduct a hands-on training workshop in Ranong Province. The activities were held at Ban Thung Ngao Community, Ngao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ranong Province, and Khao Niwet Community, Khao Niwet Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ranong Province.

The training was organized under the theme “Development of Local Food and Desserts for Commercialization.” It was honored by the participation of Ms. Saowapa Limsila, who served as a resource person and shared knowledge on the local dish “Yao Ye,” and Ms. Nongnuch Santisuk, who provided training on the preparation of the traditional local dessert “Khanom A-Pong.” A total of 200 local residents and community enterprise members participated in the training.

Throughout the program, participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enabling them to apply the knowledge acquired to create career opportunities, generate income, and add value to local products. The activity also contributed to strengthening the grassroots economy and promoting sustainable community growth.

This activity formed part of the “Project to Upgrade Research-Based Prototype Products toward Commercialization,” which focuses on the concrete application of knowledge, technology, and research outputs in line with the creative economy concept and the Rajabhat University strategy for sustainable local development. The project aims to enhance the potential of community entrepreneurs, increase market competitiveness, and create added value for community products.

The project is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being; SDG 4: Quality Education; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; and SDG 17: Partnerships for
